Ogun State Infrastructure: Roads, Transport & Airport
Major roadworks across Ogun East (Iperu‑Remo, Sagamu, Ijebu‑Ode, Ode Remo, Ikangba,
etc.) are being implemented across over 200 km of arterial routes.
Governor Abiodun claims
more road reconstruction has happened in this term than in the previous two administrations
combined. Key projects include the Sagamu‑Iperu‑Ode‑Sapade road, Sagamu‑Ayepe road,
road junction improvements with three‑foot drainage systems to tackle erosion, and newly
awarded contracts (e.g. Akaka‑Ilara‑Ilisan, Ode‑Isara) .
Ogun State’s 2025 ₦1.05 trillion budget includes strategic capital to support road infrastructure,
housing, rail & water transport, and extensions of Lagos’s Red, Blue, and Purple rail lines into
Ogun, enhancing commuter mobility and freight logistics.
Gateway International Airport has
received operational certification and is nearing full readiness for passenger and cargo flights .
The Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport at Iperu‑Remo designed as an aerotropolis with a
cargo hub, agro-processing zone, export certification center, and passenger services is seen as
a transformative infrastructure anchor driving land and real estate demand around Remo.
Though passenger flights started mid‑2025, completion work continues .
